RMC’s thorough understanding of the grant funding process, our technical expertise, and our innovative approaches to project development have helped California agencies and municipalities obtain over $450 million for water and wastewater related projects over the past seven years. RMC works closely with clients and stakeholders to develop a well-supported grant proposal based on an understanding of the needs of our clients, expectations of funding agencies, and specific program requirements.
Ongoing internal tracking of both current and emerging funding opportunities, application guidelines, and deadlines by a dedicated committee combined with regular communications with Local, State and Federal agencies keeps RMC at the forefront of potential funding prospects. More than 25 engineers at RMC have grant writing experience, having helped 39 clients receive funding.

RMC combines this project- and client-specific information with regular communication with Local, State and Federal representatives to ensure the best possible match between project and funding opportunity and to guarantee that all applications provide the specific information reviewers will be expecting.
Application Preparation: RMC has the technical understanding to thoroughly describe the projects to the funding agencies and also the creative ability to write compelling applications discussing the collaborative process used to develop and sometimes prioritize the projects in the regions. In every application, RMC looks for opportunities to integrate projects to maximize the benefits to be achieved for each grant dollar spent.
Grant Administration: RMC communicates with funding administrators before, during, and after the grant application is submitted, as necessary. RMC helps negotiate grant and loan agreement contracts, prepare necessary documentation for agency engineering and financial staff, and work with client implementation issues, such as the accounting reporting requirements and providing progress updates.
