Dr. Ali Taghavi has 25 years of experience in water resources planning, management and engineering, and is a recognized expert in hydrologic modeling and data management. He has managed integrated water management planning efforts for various hydrologic regions throughout the western U.S. Ali has coordinated a wide range of hydrologic, hydrogeologic, and geologic investigations for groundwater management, conjunctive use and other water supply plans, and water quality analysis in support of environmental permitting and reviews. He has worked with federal, state, and local public agencies in planning and design of conjunctive use projects, integrated water resources projects, and other major basin planning efforts throughout California. Ali managed the multi-million dollar, statewide Water Resources Planning and Technical Support Service Program for the DWR. He earned his doctorate and master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of California, Davis and his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
