Saquib Najmus, Ph.D., P.E.  

Principal

Dr. Saquib Najmus has more than 21 years of experience in integrated water management and integration of multidisciplinary issues in water resources projects. He is recognized as an expert in integrated hydrologic modeling and has authored the “Hydrologic Modeling” chapter of the Water Resources Planning Manual published by the American Water Works Association. He is the co-author of the Integrated Groundwater and Surface water Model (IGSM), which has been in wide use in California since 1990. Saquib is the project manager for the statewide and regional integrated water management technical support contract for the California Department of Water Resources. He is also the program manager for a multi-disciplinary contract for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, managing a team of more than 15 consultants. Saquib has led groundbreaking work in integration of model, data, and analysis, in multiple DWR projects such as the Integrated Water Resources Information System (IWRIS) and CALFED Data Integration and Visualization Framework. As the project manager for the Snake River Decision Support System (SRDSS), he conducted pioneering work in the field of DSS for water resources, where multiple resources need to be integrated into a single analytical framework. Saquib earned a doctorate in civil engineering from the University of California, Davis; a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky; and a bachelor’s degree from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Dr. Najmus is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
