Michael has 16 years of experience in the water and wastewater field, and holds a master’s degree in engineering from Harvey Mudd College. His primary focus is on infrastructure management, operations, maintenance, and capital program planning. Michael has supported some of the largest cities in the United States with regulatory support for their wastewater collection system programs including San Diego, Los Angeles, and Honolulu. He has developed approaches to help agencies achieve significant SSO reduction through improved operational and maintenance management practices. He recently conducted a sewer cleaning effectiveness study and recommended sewer cleaning operations improvements for the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District that helped them achieve a 26% reduction in sewer system overflows in only one year.
