Adopt-A-Family
In December 2011, RMC’s Walnut Creek office adopted fourteen children in need and provided them with gifts from their wish lists. The children were part of the Concord Childcare Center, an organization serving children from low income families. RMC purchased, wrapped and donated clothes and toys and even purchased grocery gift certificates for the families.
Adopt-A-Family In December 2011, RMC’s Irvine office adopted a family of three through the South County Outreach (SCO) and provided them with a holiday meal and gifts from their wish list. The family greatly appreciated the generosity with a thank you made by their five-year-old.
Casting for Recovery
During May 2011, employees in RMC’s Walnut Creek office contributed to a coin drive to raise money for Casting for Recovery, a support group that provides retreats for breast cancer survivors. Over $400 was collected for the organization.
Back to School Drive In July 2011, RMC’s Walnut Creek office donated over 20 backpacks to children in need in the Bay Area through the Family Giving Tree (FGT) in Milpitas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of low income children throughout the Bay Area. We helped the FGT provide 15,000 backpacks and needed supplies to local school children. Students in kindergarten through grade 12 who are in the Free or Reduced Lunch Program receive backpacks through the FGT; they are from families struggling to meet life’s necessities of food and shelter.
Water for PeopleIn March 2011, RMC Sacramento sponsored and attended Water For People’s annual Water Day Event, which featured World Water Corps member Rafael Maestu speaking about his experiences with Water For People in Central and South America, classical guitarist Elizabeth Busch, a raffle and silent auction. The event benefited the foundation, which assists developing communities to build and maintain their own reliable safe water systems.
Spring Food Drive
In March 2011, RMC’s offices donated an equivalent of 3,840 pounds of food to local food banks throughout California for those in need. Food bank donations are often forgotten after Thanksgiving is over, so RMC decided to continue our tradition of donating in early spring when families are still in need, but not always supported. All of the food banks we supported work to end hunger and increase access to nutritious food for low-income individuals and families.
Wetlands Restoration
In March 2011, employees from RMC’s San Jose office volunteered their time to assist with wetlands restoration at Save the Bay’s Palo Alto Native Plant nursery. Save The Bay is a nonprofit organization involved with protecting and enhancing the San Francisco Bay’s natural resources. While getting their hands dirty by transplanting native plant cuttings and removing non-native weeds, RMC staff learned
about the impact that this work has on preserving sensitive wetlands.

Home of Guiding Hands
In December 2010, RMC’s San Diego office sold raffle tickets to raise money for holiday parties for the Home of Guiding Hands (www.guidinghands.org). HGH is a local organization that provides residential support and training services to individuals with developmental disabilities (mental retardation, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and autism). A total of $640 was raised to sponsor Holiday Home Parties, which gives residents a holiday party in their own home. Parties, which included food, gifts and decorations, are a big deal to residents, as many would not otherwise get the experience of a holiday celebration in their home.
Lancaster Armory for Veterans
In December 2010, RMC’s Santa Monica office donated toys and gifts to the Lancaster Armory for Veterans. The donations were used for a holiday party that was given for veterans that were being re-deployed to Afghanistan and their families.
